Your Liposuction Procedure

- Depending on the extent of correction required, the procedure can take an hour or more
- Once the procedure is completed, the cannula is removed and your incisions are closed

You’ve Just Had Liposuction! Now What?
After liposuction, most patients experience the following in terms of the recovery timeline:

Immediately After
You will experience some bruising and swelling around the treatment site. Special compression garments are worn to minimize swelling, improve healing, and promote skin tightening. You may feel some minor discomfort, which can be controlled using oral pain medication.
1 Week After
You will be required to rest for the week following your procedure and avoid any strenuous physical activities. Stitches are removed within 10 days. Most patients can return to work during this time.
2 Weeks After
Most patients can begin to resume their regular activities, including exercise. Bruising and swelling should begin to subside.
6 Weeks After
At this time, your final results should become visible. All major swelling will have subsided, although minor swelling may last for several months. The harvested fat is permanently removed, and patients should use a healthy diet and exercise to maintain their results.
